Larisa & James’ Colourful Wedding at The Faversham, Leeds

When Larisa & James first got in touch about their Leeds wedding at The Faversham, I just knew this was going to be an unforgettable day. They didn’t have a strict theme, just a simple directive: “LOADS OF COLOUR” and a great time with friends from far and wide. Sounds like my kinda day!

Colourful Mismatched Bridesmaids Dresses

Larisa and her girls prepped for the big day at the Radisson Blu in the heart of Leeds. Larisa looked absolutely stunning in a tulle gown that gracefully swept the floor, adorned with the cutest long, floaty bows on her shoulders. She gave her bridesmaids free rein to wear any type of dress they wanted, as long as it was colourful. The result? A colourful rainbow that came together perfectly! This idea was not only brilliant for showcasing everyone’s unique style but also a great way to accommodate different body types without the hassle of hunting for ‘the one’ dress.

James and his groomsmen were getting ready in the same hotel, which made it super convenient for me to capture both sides of the pre-wedding excitement without needing a second shooter. Seeing both the bride and groom with their squads in the final moments before saying “I do” is always a treat.

I absolutely love The Faversham as a wedding venue. It has this wonderfully chilled vibe with different areas that offer a variety of backdrops, all adorned with electric, colourful decor. You really don’t have to do much to put your personal stamp on it.

Hand-written Vows in The Conservatory

Larisa & James exchanged their personal vows in the gorgeous conservatory, which was flooded with natural light and adorned with greenery and colourful flowers. It was the perfect setting for them to say “I do,” and from there, it was time to get the party started.

The weather was absolutely glorious and so the drinks reception was spent outside on the terrace at The Faversham. With drinks flowing, acoustic music playing, and giant games set up for the guests, it was a fantastic atmosphere for me to take lots of candid photos.

Towards the end of the drinks reception, we took a wander for some couple portraits. I was excited to explore the university grounds next door. I love a bit of juxtaposition in photography and so the beautiful mix of urban architecture and wildflower gardens was perfect. We also headed back inside for a few on The Faversham, the big bay window full of plants provided an 10/10 backdrop before heading into dinner.

As the sun set, the energy turned up a notch. The dance floor was on fire with some serious shapes being thrown down. It was a fabled day filled with love, laughter, and an explosion of colours.
