A Bakewell Town Hall Wedding with Portraits in The Peak District

Love Stories

Rosie & Will’s Beautiful Derbyshire Wedding at Bakewell Town Hall.

Ahh, where to start with Rosie & Will! They were a relatively last-minute booking, but I’m so glad they reached out. Their wedding plans were right up my street! An intimate ceremony at Bakewell Registry Office followed by a reception at one of my favorite breweries, Thornbridge Tap Room. What more could a Derbyshire photographer ask for?

Lovers of The Peak District

Rosie and Will are such a gorgeous pair. They met through an online walking group and fell in love during a long walk in the Peak District. When they mentioned sneaking off for couple portraits in the countryside, I got very excited indeed. Their love for the great outdoors was contagious, and it made their wedding day extra special.

The Ceremony: Bakewell Town Hall

The day started with a charming ceremony at Bakewell Registry Office. The atmosphere was warm and intimate, with just close family and friends. Rosie arrived in style in a vintage convertible and looked stunning in her tassel adorned wedding dress from a local bridal boutique. The ceremony was filled with laughter and happy tears, a pleasure to capture every beautiful candid moment.

Couple Portraits at Curbar Edge, Peak District, Derbyshire

After the lovely Town Hall ceremony, we headed off for photos at Curbar Edge, one of my favourite spots in the Peaks. It’s just over a 10-minute drive from Bakewell, and the scenery there is breathtaking. The wind was wild, and it was unseasonably cold for April, but that didn’t stop us. Curbar Edge is fantastic for photography because you don’t have to walk far to get incredible views.

We even grabbed a hot chocolate from Jolly’s coffee van before walking up. We spent about 15-20 minutes capturing some magic amidst the rugged beauty of the landscape. Despite the cold, Rosie and Will were absolute troopers, and the photos turned out beautifully.

Wedding Reception at Thornbridge Tap Room

We warmed up in the car and took a short drive over to Thornbridge Tap Room for more celebrations, pizza, and beer! The tables were decorated with simple foliage and table runners, perfectly matching the relaxed vibe of the day. More guests joined for the celebrations, adding to the joyful atmosphere.

I was in love with the low-key vibes of their day. There’s something incredibly special about seeing couples do as they please and not play into all the fancy traditions if it doesn’t suit them. Rosie and Will’s wedding was all about them, and it was perfect.
