Love Stories

Ellen & Phil’s relaxed micro wedding in West Bridgford.

Today, I want to share with you a special wedding that I had the pleasure of capturing. Ellen and Phil reached out to me and shared their plans for a low-key wedding day. They had a simple ceremony planned at West Bridgford Registry Office in Nottingham, followed by a meal at the nearby Escabeche Restaurant, known for its delicious tapas.

They opted for my hourly package, and in just two hours, we were able to capture all the important moments. From the ceremony to group photos, couple portraits, and even a few details at the restaurant, we made sure to capture it all.

Ellen looked absolutely stunning in her silk two-piece wedding dress from Frances Day Bridal, complemented perfectly by the beautiful blooms from Boutique Florist in Derby.

West Bridgford Registry Office itself is in a lovely location, surrounded by a park. The building itself is stunning too. The ceremony was heartfelt, with Ellen and Phil exchanging handwritten vows. Afterward, we all gathered outside for confetti and relaxed group photos. This doesn’t have to take a lot of time or be stressful. I work closely with my couples leading up to the wedding, going over all the details, including the family group photos. This way, everything runs smoothly and effortlessly on the big day.

We then took a leisurely walk around the park, capturing some beautiful portraits. I don’t believe in forced poses, so we simply walked, talked, laughed, and occasionally stopped for a sweet kiss. That’s my style of photography – perfect for those who don’t enjoy being in front of the camera.

Cute Wedding Ideas to steal

After our walk, it was time to join the guests at the restaurant for some delicious food and bubbly. Despite keeping the wedding small, Ellen and Phil didn’t overlook any details. The flowers were stunning, the stationery was beautiful, and the cake was absolutely adorable. I loved their cake topper idea – they used two polaroids taken when they first arrived at the venue. It’s such a simple yet cute idea, and they get to keep the polaroids as well. They also had a unique guest book – a champagne bottle with a white chalk pen for guests to leave their well-wishes.

This wedding was truly a joy to capture, and it showcased the beauty of embracing simplicity. I specialize in wedding photography for those who don’t love having their photo taken, and I am available for micro wedding coverage at West Bridgford Registry Office and beyond. If you’re looking for a photographer who can capture your special day in a relaxed and natural way, I’m here for you.
