A Joyful, Summer Wedding at The Mill in Hoveringham, for Katie & Tom

Katie and Tom’s wedding at The Mill at Hoveringham was nothing short of magical. Taking place on a gorgeous August day, the atmosphere was set for an unforgettable celebration. Known for its rustic charm, The Mill is a barn venue outside of Nottingham that offers couples a blank canvas to bring their dream wedding to life. And that’s exactly what Katie and Tom did. They embraced every opportunity to make the space uniquely theirs, adding personal touches that reflected their fun and relaxed personalities.

Nottingham Barn Wedding Venue

The venue was adorned with breathtaking blooms by Laurenne Hopkins Flowers, creating a whimsical and romantic vibe. The barn’s beauty was elevated with hand-painted signage by Allie Paints Signs, who also happened to be Katie’s maid of honour. Each detail was carefully thought out, from the décor to the styling props from Tara Knott. The space felt like a beautifully curated celebration of Katie and Tom’s love story, filled with personal meaning.

I think really made the day special, though, was the couple’s relaxed energy and genuine joy. As their photographer, I was able to capture those candid moments that truly reflect who they are—two people deeply in love, surrounded by the people they cherish most. There were so many perfect spots around the venue for us to escape for relaxed portraits, creating those effortlessly beautiful shots.

Wedding Surprises at The Mill Hoveringham

But perhaps the most heartwarming moment of the day was Tom’s surprise during their first dance. Throughout the venue, there were little clues hinting at the lyrics, and when they hit the dance floor, it all clicked. Tom had written a song just for Katie titled “Wanna Grow Old With You,” and it was an absolute bop! The room was filled with emotion and happy tears as they danced to a track that now lives on in all our hearts.
