Relaxed Spring Wedding at The Chimney House & The Mowbray | Holly & James

I’ve been so excited about Holly & James wedding at The Chimney House since their engagement shoot and the day finally arrived. Holly & James are one of the nicest couples you’ll ever meet – and yes I do say that about all my couples – because they’re the best!

The day started with a very chilled morning getting ready with Holly and her girls, including Luna the cat who was giving main character energy as she placed herself in the spotlight (the sun pouring in from the window) and really worked the camera.

I always tell my couples it doesn’t matter about the weather and we can roll with it should it rain (see my tips here) but we needn’t have worried about plan B because it was glorious and really felt like spring had kicked in.

The Chimney House & The Mowbray Weddings

Holly & James got married at my favourite Sheffield venue duo – The Chimney House on Kelham Island and then on to The Mowbray in Neepsend. The vibes here are just perfect, fun but chilled, cosy but big enough for a party and the team are amongst the best I’ve had the pleasure of working with.

Holly arrived in a gorgeous VW camper and after a heartfelt ceremony it was time for drinks and confetti outside.

Marrying at The Chimney House is perfect for relaxed portraits as there are so many spots along the way to The Mowbray. We kept it casual using some of the colourful street art and backdrops for portraits.

Drinks and The Mowbray’s famous punch bowls awaited them for more candid photos and mingling before an epic sharing dinner. Phwoar that pavlova!

Did you know The Mowbray has a fab roof terrace? It’s great for catching some fresh air and the last of the sunshine. Holly & James also popped up for a couple of cocktails and relaxed portraits.

After the speeches and not a dry eye in the house, it was time for the evening celebrations to start. Chilled as ever, the couple partied into the night with just one photo request on their list. A photo in the loo!? It’s a tradition of theirs and one I was only too happy to help with. So off we conga’d to the toilets to see how people we could fit a cubicle. I’m always happy to do these requests, if it’s important to you, it is to me.

What a fab day it was. Thanks to The Chimney House & The Mowbray team for being so great. All the other awesome suppliers that can be found at the bottom of this blog.

Big Love,

Mirl x
