A Woodland Engagement Shoot at Blidworth Woods, Nottingham – Lara & Finn

I always love hearing about where my couples want to have their engagement shoot. It’s such a special time to capture before the big day. Lara & Finn chose Blidworth Woods in Nottinghamshire for their session, a place close to their hearts where they often walk their adorable dog Rudy. Despite some April showers, we managed to dodge the rain and capture some beautiful shots together.

It’s normal to feel a bit nervous before an engagement session, but I always aim to make my couples feel comfortable and relaxed. I believe in a more natural approach to photography, but I’m always here to offer guidance if needed.

So with Lara & Finn, I offered a few prompts for them to get settled into and they just ran with it. The smiles, the laughs, the little touches, it’s all them. So many people say they’re not comfortable on from of the camera and then shots like this happen. Magic happens when you’re just YOURSELF! And hey, even if Finn had to deal with Rudy’s dog poop during the shoot, you’d never know from the gorgeous photos we got! (apart from that first shot haha)
