Jane & Paul’s Outdoor Wedding at Lineham Farm.

Planning an outdoor wedding is always an adventure. For any bride or groom dreaming of exchanging vows under open skies, three things will inevitably happen. First, you will obsessively check the weather forecast—daily, sometimes even hourly. Second, you will cross your fingers and pray to the weather gods for perfect skies. And third, you’ll make a solid plan B, likely involving a ton of umbrellas!

Jane and Paul experienced all three of these when they got married at Lineham Farm, a stunning outdoor wedding venue just outside of Leeds. I, as their Leeds wedding photographer, was thrilled to capture every moment of their special day, from the unpredictability of the weather to the beautiful woodland ceremony.

An Outdoor Wedding Ceremony in Leeds

Lineham Farm, a hidden gem just outside of Leeds

Jane and Paul planned an outdoor humanist ceremony nestled in the beautiful woodlands of Lineham Farm. We had all hoped for clear skies, but Mother Nature kept us on our toes with some looming grey clouds. But as is often the case with outdoor weddings, a little rain didn’t stop the magic. Umbrellas were on standby, and we were ready to embrace whatever the day threw at us.

Helen from Your Best Life Celebrant led the ceremony, and it was simply a delight. There’s something uniquely emotional about witnessing two people exchange vows amidst nature, surrounded by their loved ones. Halfway through, a light drizzle began, but the team was prepared. Out came the umbrellas, and the ceremony continued, becoming even more intimate as guests huddled closer to stay dry. It made for some truly incredible photographs, capturing the beauty of the moment against a backdrop of the towering trees.

Post-Ceremony Fun: Chilled Festival Vibes

After the ceremony, we headed to the courtyard for drinks and canapés. Just as I advise all my couples, Jane and Paul opted to keep their formal group photos minimal, allowing them more time to enjoy the company of their guests. The atmosphere was relaxed, with a chilled festival vibe and plenty of musical nods to the great Northern bands that they love.

For portraits, Lineham Farm offers endless options. We wandered the venue, finding quiet spots for Jane and Paul to share a few moments alone before heading back for the speeches and an incredible Indian feast!
