Nottinghamshire Engagement Shoot – Talia & Sam
So, let’s talk about weather – specifically, the kind that keeps you guessing! I recently had one of those shoots where Mother Nature couldn’t quite make up her mind. Yup, you guessed it – T&S’s engagement session takes the prize for the most changeable weather award!
We kicked off the session with the sun gently streaming through the trees, setting the scene for a picturesque spring stroll. It was all sunshine and smiles until… Cue the dramatic downpour!

But hey, here’s the thing – when you’re capturing the love story of a couple like Talia & Sam, location and weather hardly matters. These two could light up a room anywhere! For their engagement session, they opted for a spot close to home – an old railway track adorned with blossoms and vibrant graffiti-covered bridges. And let me tell you, that decision paid off big time.
Despite the ever-changing weather, each step along that short walk gifted us with a new backdrop to work with making their gallery super varied. I loved getting creative with what looked like a simple location. The tunnels provided a chance to have a play with shapes and silhouettes and I love how those images came out.
One of the photos got picked up for Photography Farm’s Image of The Week by Lisa Devlin – You can check out the write up here.

T & S are gearing up for a summer wedding at The River Mill, and I’ve got the honour of capturing their legal ceremony this spring in the charming registry office in West Bridgford too. I can’t wait.
So, there you have it – a glimpse into the whirlwind (pun intended) adventure that was Talia & Sam’s engagement session. Stay tuned for more updates as we dive into their wedding journey together!
Cheers to love and unpredictable weather,
Big Love Mirl x
