Tucked away on an unassuming street in Derby City Centre, sits a hidden gem of a wedding venue, The Chocolate Factory. Not Willy Wonka’s but you could say the magic and endless possibilities there totally rival it.

The Chocolate Factory is the Derby’s newest and most exciting events venue with over 20,000 sq ft of multi-room industrial space. Set in an old, you guessed it, chocolate factory – this unique venue together with it’s capacity of 100-1,000 makes it one of the biggest & most adaptable space in the Derby.

When Alice from The Wedding Assembly showed me her moodboard for this styled shoot, I was instantly hooked. Vibrant colours, disco balls, and an awesome mix of soft tulle with an industrial vibe. I mean, who wouldn’t love that? And let me tell you, the team she brought together was incredible. We had Tara Knott on styling, she’s seriously a dream to work with. Katie Oliver bringing the colourful vibes with the blooms and incredible wedding dresses by Derbyshire’s own Pearl & Eve Bridal. With so many other talented creatives on board, all bringing their magic, how could we not create something truly special.

This shoot really embodied my style as a photographer. I’m all about capturing those relaxed, candid moments with a fun and editorial feel. The Chocolate Factory, with its quirky industrial blank canvas just screams “let’s have a party!” It was the perfect backdrop to get creative and capture Marilyn & Roland loved up and having fun.

What I loved most about this shoot was the energy and creativity in the air. Everyone was so passionate and enthusiastic about what they were doing, and it really came through in the photos. It’s shoots like these that remind me why I love what I do.

Derby is such a vibrant city, full of talented suppliers and cool wedding venues. And if you happen to stumble upon the Chocolate Factory, trust me, you won’t be disappointed. It’s a place where you can truly be yourself and where creativity knows no bounds.
