York Elopement Styled Shoot with Ellie & Marcus

City Elopements have my heart. What’s not to love? Just you and your love (+ me and my camera) loved up, high on happiness frolicking around your favourite place celebrating.

So where were this time? Come with me to York with the gorgeous Ellie and Marcus as we wander around York Minster with nothing but a gorgeous bouquet, a velvet suit and all the loved up vibes!

We started fairly early on a sleepy Sunday morning with nothing but the Minster bells ringing. It was perfect as the cobbled streets were fairly quiet, meaning I could snap the gorgeous couple with little interruption.

York is such a beautiful city, steeped in history and the perfect backdrop to elopements and wedding portraits. For this shoot, all that was needed was a fresh bouquet – how amazing does the red Anthurium and blue Hydrangeas look together? A whole heap of love and who can forget Marcus’ redcurrant velvet suit. 

We let the stunning stone architecture and the cobbled streets do the talking as we quite literally ran around the city shooting creative and romantic portraits. The city was literally our playground. Although, always wait for the green man folks. 

All of these photos are taken less that a few minutes walk from York Minster which is perfect if you’re planning a wedding with shorter coverage. In a short space of time we can have a gorgeous gallery of portraits.

Marry at 56 Bootham Lodge

York Registry Office is a short walk away too so if you’re planning a ceremony there and want some portraits around the city before heading to your reception venue this is the perfect option.

It’s no surprise that York’s Registry office is just as pretty as the rest of the city and so it’s perfect for some confetti and group photos before exploring the cobblestones together. You also don’t have to be local to marry here which makes it perfect if you’re thinking of eloping to York.
