Mollie & Bob: An Outdoor Summer Wedding at Oakhill, Cromford

I just knew Mollie & Bob’s wedding at Oakhill in Cromford, Derbyshire was going to be special. Nestled in the heart of the Peak District, Oakhill is a stunning Grade II listed Georgian venue, complete with lush gardens and a charming, laid-back vibe. I had the chance to photograph their engagement shoot the year before, so I knew their wedding day was going to be just as relaxed and full of personal touches—and it didn’t disappoint!

Outdoor Wedding Ceremony at Oakhill

August turned out to be the perfect time for their outdoor ceremony. The gardens at Oakhill were in full bloom, with wildflowers lining the pathways, and a stunning lavender and wisteria arch set the scene for Mollie’s walk down the aisle. It felt intimate and beautifully natural, with all the surroundings adding a touch of magic to the ceremony.

Lawn Games, Canapés, and Good Vibes

After the “I do’s,” and confetti, everyone gathered on the lawn for drinks and canapés. There were garden games set up, giving guests a chance to mingle and enjoy the sun. What I loved most was how everything felt so personal and DIY. The bunting that filled the marquee was handmade by Mollie’s family, and you could tell how much love and effort had gone into making the day feel special for everyone.

Oakhill, Cromford Wedding Photos

One of my favorite parts of the day was when Mollie & Bob took a quiet walk around the gardens for a few relaxed portraits. It gave them a chance to steal some time together before the evening kicked off. Oakhill’s gardens are full of hidden corners, and the soft evening light made everything even better.

Ceilidh Dancing to End the Night

The evening kicked off with a lively ceilidh band, and it didn’t take long for everyone to join in on the dancing. It was a great way to get everyone involved, and the energy was infectious. By the end of the night, the dance floor was packed, and safe to say I got a bit dizzy keeping up. So much fun!
