Derby Museum Wedding Photography
Where to start with Lucy and Joe’s wedding at the Derby Museum & Art Gallery? It was such a unique and special venue for a wedding. The whole day was filled with so much love and joy, and I’m just bursting to share all the details with you.
A vintage dress and red suit for Lucy & Joe’s vintage DIY Wedding.
First of all, the ceremony was held right in the Joseph Wright art gallery, surrounded by all the incredible works of art. It was such an amazing and creative setting to say their handwritten vows in. After the ceremony, we all headed out onto the streets and let loose with the bucket of handmade heart-shaped confetti. SO MUCH FUN! We definitely left our mark on the city.
Creative Wedding Photography Derby
After all the congratulations and hugs we let the guests walk ahead and popped back inside for portraits We had the whole place to ourselves, and it was absolutely magical and absolute treasure trove for creative wedding photography.
Lucy & Joe didn’t fancy a first dance with everyone watching, so we turned the museum into their own private dance floor. I mean, can you imagine twirling around in a gorgeous vintage silk dress surrounded by beautiful art? It was like something out of a dream.
A relaxed DIY Wedding at Derby Museum
The entire day was filled with handmade details, from the confetti to the heart-shaped bunting made from old books. Every little detail was just perfect. And let me tell you, Joe looked absolutely amazing in his red suit from Hockerty. It was such a bold and stylish choice, and it suited him so well. Then there was Lucy with her vintage pin curls and bespoke designed dress – stunning.
Museum of Making Wedding Photography
After the portraits, we took a short walk to the reception venue. The Museum of Making is another historical venue right in the heart of the city. Once there, everyone relaxed and enjoyed some delicious food and drinks. We took some group photos, capturing all the laughter and fun. We even got to go up the tower and see the view of Derby City Centre and the sunset!
The whole experience was just incredible. I feel so lucky to have been a part of Lucy and Joe’s special day. Being able to capture all those precious moments and turn them into lasting memories is truly a gift. If you’re ever in need of a relaxed wedding photographer in Derby or beyond, you know where to find me.
Sending you all the love,
